The Orton Packable Smock is one of the very lightest and most versatile shell garments in our product range. The smock has a windproof and waterproof HWS membrane, and the practical feature that it packs down into its own pocket and can be worn on a belt. This makes it an excellent choice for mountain and upland hunting, and other outings where extra wind and rain protection is desirable.
The Orton Packable Smock is made from a very lightweight, soft, stretch fabric. Inside, it incorporates our own windproof and waterproof HWS (Härkila Weather System) membrane that has been designed specially for hunting and is low-noise, supple and stretchable. Because both the fabric and the membrane are supple and stretchable, you retain a lot of freedom of movement, even when wearing the smock over several layers of clothing. The smock’s hood packs into its own zipped pouch around the collar, to keep it out of the way, while also providing extra neck insulation. The smock has hand-warmer pockets at the sides, and a large binoculars pocket on the chest, which is also the pocket for packing the smock away into. On the left-hand side is a two-way zip from the bottom hem to the armhole, which makes it easy to put on/take off and offers excellent ventilation. The smock also features adjustable cuffs, bottom hem, waist and hood.
